Today we covered the basic concepts of Economic systems and types of economic activities. We also discussed the indicators that allow us to classify countries as More Developed, Less Developed or Newly Industrialized. Below you will find the chart I gave you in class for the Levels of Economic Activity. Make sure you read CH 4 Section 4!

Ladies and gentlemen your Unit 1 exam is coming up shortly. Below you will see the review/study guide for the exam. I also gave you a copy of this review in class it was on blue paper. This exam will cover information from Chapters 1-4. STUDY!!!
Today we discussed population geography. Demographers, people who study population, look to see if populations around the world are increasing or decreasing. Countries need to understand this information so as to know if they need to improve infrastructure or prepare for less people in the work force. Population pyramids help us understand the population trends of a region or country. Below is the population pyramid handout/graph and the data I gave you in class.
We are beginning our chapter on Culture. You will be learning about the world's major religions. Below you will find the World Religions Chart as well as a resource for world religions. You will need to complete the chart either by hand or you may type it. Please conduct online research to help you complete information and learn about the world's 7 most dominant religions. Utilize pages 60-61 to help you complete the climate zones map. Please note that the arid climate zone is the same as desert. You can also access this following interactive website to help you with climate zones: NOAA Climate Zones
Word wall must contain complete definitions for terms and pictures that are hand drawn and colored. OR, you can print out pictures for the terms. The picture is to help you understand and identify the term. Page 34-35 will help. Pics drawn by hand must be colored!!!
Precipitation and temperatures are the two things that affect climate the most. The latitude zone or where you live on our planet has a major impact on climate as well. Below is a copy of the Zones of Latitude map we did in class today. Each zone, tropical, temperate, and polar needs to be colored and identified on the map. You also need to give me the definition for each zone.
Please use your notes and pages 54-56 to help you understand how climate is affected by ocean and wind currents. Zones of Latitude, elevation and topography.
